Description
-
Visual Dispersion (Capillary): The primary blue and brown forms exhibit “Internal Capillary Diffusion.” Within each leaf shape, the pigment is dispersed through the “veins” of the water on the paper, creating lighter “starburst” patterns or translucent centers where the water pushed the pigment toward the edges.
-
Pigment Dispersion (Boundary): The edges show “High-Contrast Boundary Pooling.” As the washes dried, the pigment dispersed and settled heavily at the perimeter of each shape. This creates a natural, dark “outline” effect that defines the forms without the need for a secondary pen line.
-
Atmospheric Dispersion (Hazy): The background tan washes show “Vaporous Atmospheric Dispersion.” These colors are dispersed so thinly that they appear as a warm haze or shadow behind the main indigo forms, adding a subtle three-dimensional depth to the flat surface.
