It mimics the effect of a stiff paintbrush or broom that has very little paint on it (dry brush technique). When swept in a circle, the individual bristles leave separate, scratchy lines rather than a solid band of color.

Description

Visual Dispersion (Bristle Effect): The “paint” is highly dispersed. Instead of a solid shape, the color is broken up into hundreds of tiny, parallel lines. This represents the physical dispersion of the brush bristles as they drag across the surface. The white space between the lines is just as important as the lines themselves.
Technical Dispersion (Ink Spread): This is a difficult print to execute on fabric because of dispersion control.
- The Risk: If the ink disperses (spreads) even slightly into the fabric fibers, those tiny white gaps between the black lines will fill in. The “scratchy” texture will turn into a solid, muddy blob.
- The Requirement: This design requires Low Dispersion printing (sharp definition) to maintain the dry, airy look of the brushstrokes.
