Description
-
Visual Dispersion (Pooling): The pigment exhibits “Hydrodynamic Pooling.” The fluid spreads out from a center point until surface tension or evaporation stops it. The dispersion is radial (outward from a drop) rather than directional (sweeping strokes).
-
Edge Dispersion (Capillary): The edges show “Capillary Edge Dispersion” (often called the “Coffee Ring Effect”). As the alcohol evaporates, the pigment is pulled to the outer perimeter of the pool, creating a delicate, darker rim that defines the shape against the lighter center.
-
Layer Dispersion (Optical): This is a perfect example of “Optical Dispersion.” The colors mix in the eye, not on the canvas. The layers dry separately, so the blue layer sits on top of the orange layer, acting as a filter rather than physically blending into muddy brown.
